NFL player charged in shooting death of ex-girlfriend

SANTA CLARA, Calif.

— A former NFL player is charged with murder in the shooting death last month of an ex-boyfriend.

A Santa Clara County grand jury indicted 27-year-old Brayden Snow on Thursday in the death of Michael Thomas, who was fatally shot by Snow on Nov. 23.

The grand jury returned an indictment on Wednesday after an investigation by the Santa Clara Police Department.

Snow is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday.

Snow has been charged with first-degree murder and other charges stemming from Thomas’ death.

“I am devastated by this loss, and I know that my family and friends are devastated as well,” Thomas’ mother, Linda Thomas, said in a statement.

“I am praying for the justice system to take a hard look at this tragic case and find justice for my son.”

Snow is currently on probation for the 2014 death of former football player T.J. Johnson, who died in the same jail.
