Lake City reporter arrested on drug charges

A Lake City Reporter was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine and heroin.

The Lake City Herald reported on Tuesday that 30-year-old Anthony Williams of Lake City was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and possessing cocaine, according to an arrest warrant.

Williams, who works at a news outlet in the city, has been working in the newsroom since January.

He was also working for an alternative news site in the area.

He has not been charged in connection with the overdose.

Lake City Reporter Michael Hoeppner, who is the editor of the Lake City Examiner, was charged with drug possession and possession of marijuana, the report said.

He is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, the Herald reported.
