Dublin has become the latest Irish city to see a new TV provider in the past year, with two major cable companies – Viacom Ireland and Conecurry Cable – joining the city’s network.
The company said it would be launching an on-demand television service by the end of next year.
The news comes amid a surge in investment in the Irish telecommunications industry.
Mr O’Reilly said he had not yet decided what he would do next but had been told the service could be in a range of areas, from mobile apps to digital television.
Viacoms first on-air TV service was announced in 2015 and has since become popular with the Irish public.
It has now become one of the biggest players in the sector, having already signed up over 400 new cable customers, according to figures from research firm Technomic.
