Browns’ Carson Wentz, Josh Gordon, and the NFL’s biggest free-agent busts

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon was arrested on a felony charge Thursday morning in Ohio, the city’s mayor said.

The arrest came less than a week after Gordon pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor charge of theft of a firearm, which he was sentenced to four days in jail.

Gordon, who was not available for comment on Thursday, was released from jail early Friday.

Gordon’s attorney, James P. Boush, said the arrest was related to an incident last summer in which Gordon was stopped by police after he allegedly stole an SUV.

Gordon pleaded not guilty and is scheduled to appear in court again on March 28.

Browns WR Josh Gordon is arrested by Cleveland Police in Cleveland, Ohio, on April 6, 2018.

Browns receiver Josh Gates was arrested earlier this month on a similar charge in Ohio.

He has pleaded not charged.

Browns running back Rashard Mendenhall, who has struggled for production the past few seasons, was arrested Friday in the same area.

He was released on a $2,500 bond.

Cleveland Browns running backs Rashard McKinnon, Corey Coleman, and Corey Clement were arrested this month after police said they stole an older vehicle in a parking lot in Cleveland.

A woman who called police told investigators that the suspects were trying to get her car keys back from a nearby home, according to a report in the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

A surveillance camera recorded the car being stolen, and Cleveland police later found the vehicle in the parking lot.

The woman told police that McKinnon and Coleman stole the car, the Plain Dealer reported.

Cleveland police declined to say how many vehicles were stolen.

A spokeswoman for the Cleveland police union said the department does not comment on ongoing investigations.

Browns quarterback Joe Haden, who is battling a hamstring injury, was not listed as a participant in the team’s Pro Day, and he did not attend the team-sponsored event in New Orleans.

Haden is expected to participate in the Browns’ Pro Day on Friday, but he did do some light workout work at the facility before the event began.

Browns QB Joe Hadelton is expected in Cleveland on Friday.

Hadelstons workout for the Browns was limited to running drills.

The Browns’ other quarterbacks, who are expected to be able to participate on Friday and Saturday, were Johnny Manziel and Joe Flacco.

Browns cornerback Jabrill Peppers was also not at the event.

Browns coach Hue Jackson is expected on Friday to announce that the team is “allocating more resources” to training camp.

The team is expected, at some point, to sign former New York Giants receiver Odell Beckham Jr.
